Welcome to our Kamloops and area fishing report for the week of July 5th!
Things are starting to heat up pretty good out there this week with temperatures rising into the upper 30’s. With water temps still down from a cooler then normal spring there are still some great opportunities to be had out there. Lakes above 3500ft are still producing well. Staple foods fished early or late in the day are getting fish and the daily hatches are consisting of mostly Caddis and Mayflies with the odd chironomid hatch still happening. Damsels seem to be on the move right now as well in both lower and higher elevations so don’t forget your damsel patterns this week! Late June and Early July can bring an abundance of hatches throughout the day so always be on the lookout when moving around or looking for new spots on the lake.
Top performers being reported back to the shop are the Kamloops Caddis Pupae, TNA mayfly and the classic M&M Leech! We’ve got good stock on them at the shop or if you’d rather tie then buy, swing by the shop and ask Brandyn to demo one for you or check out the BCFLYGUYS YouTube channel for tutorials on each pattern!
